The 2019 Haryana Assembly budget session is anticipated to be tumultuous, with the opposition Congress planning to corner the ruling BJP-JJP alliance on a range of issues, including unemployment, peace and order, illegal mining, and drug addiction, according to PTI.
The budget session, which begins on Monday, will be divided into two parts, with the second taking place between March 17 and March 22.
The governor’s address will kick off the session on Monday, followed by a discussion of his speech on February 21 and 22.
The Haryana Congress Legislative Party’s Deputy Leader, Aftab Ahmed, stated that the Congress party will raise a number of problems during the budget session.
Ahmed said a few days ago that Congress will raise issues including “illegal mining, unemployment, law and order, the old pension scheme, increasing drug addiction, privatisation of education, allegations against the state minister Sandeep Singh, and the Parivar Pehchan Patra issue (family id card).”
“We will also raise the issues pertaining to the plight of cow shelters, shortage of electricity, dilapidated condition of roads, demand for permanent jobs for sanitation workers, non-compensation for damage to mustard and wheat crops, imposition of e-tendering on panchayats, etc.,” he added.
He further stated, “Congress will seek answers from the government on every issue related to the public interest.” The BJP-JJP will have to clarify its position on all its failures. “The coalition government cannot run away from its responsibility.”
During the assembly session, Indian National Lok Dal Legislator Abhay Singh Chautala stated his party will raise concerns such as unemployment, farmers, and peace and order in the state.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who also serves as Finance Minister, will deliver the state’s budget for 2023–24 on Thursday. The House will be in session from February 24 through March 16.
