Stocks to watch today: Adani Enterprises, Godrej Consumer, SBI, SBI Cards, Paytm, Tata Power, Indian Energy Exchange

On Tuesday, the SGX Nifty finished trading at a level of 18,704.5, suggesting a slightly negative opening for the local indexes NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex. The SGX Nifty witnessed a modest loss of 0.11% on Tuesday. On the other hand, the previous day’s trading session ended on a positive note, with the Nifty 50 finishing at 18,594, showing a gain of 0.32%, and the Sensex hitting 62,787, up by 0.38% or 240 points. Both of these numbers indicate increases from the previous day’s opening levels.

Shares in Adani Enterprises and the rest of the Adani Group

Adani Group has reported that it has completed a prepayment scheme that was intended to reduce its overall debt by repaying loans totaling $2.65 billion. The Adani Group has completed the repayment of all debts that were obtained by pledging shares, in addition to the prepayment of an additional 700 million dollars’ worth of loans obtained for the purchase of Ambuja Cement.

Godrej Consumer

According to a company announcement, Aasif Malbari will start in his new position as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for GCPL on August 10, 2023. At the moment, Aasif Malbari serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility as well as the Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles.

Paytm

The parent company, One97 Communications, said that Paytm’s disbursements increased by 169% year-over-year to a total of Rs 9,618 crore during the months of April and May. The number of loans issued increased by 54% year over year, reaching 8.5 million.

Tata Power

A solar energy facility with a capacity of 110 megawatts (MW) was recently put into operation in the Indian state of Rajasthan by Tata Power Renewable Energy. It is anticipated that the project would create roughly 211 million megawatt hours (MU) of environmentally friendly power.

SBI

There is going to be a meeting of the board of directors of the State Bank of India, and they are going to discuss the possibility of raising money as well as “seek approval for raising funds during FY24 through private placement mode by way of issuance of debt instruments (including capital instruments) in INR and/or any foreign currency.”

The SBI Card

The board of directors of SBI Card gave its approval for the company to raise money via the private placement of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) totaling Rs 3,000 crore. These funds might be raised in one or more installments.
