Twitter to pay Verified content creators for Ads in replies, Elon Musk announces

On Friday, the multibillionaire Elon Musk said that Twitter would begin compensating content producers for ads that are shown in their answers, with the first block payment amounting to $5 million. Additionally, he said that the author has to be confirmed and that the only ads that matter are those that are presented to verified users. “In a few weeks, X/Twitter will start paying creators for ads served in their replies. First block payment totals $5M. Note, the creator must be verified and only ads served to verified users count,” Musk said in a tweet.

After delaying the rollout of its long-awaited edit button for many months, Twitter is now expanding the amount of time that Twitter Blue members have to modify their tweets. Twitter Blue premium users will now have the opportunity to make changes to just the original tweets, not the replies, within one hour of publishing, up from the previous limit of 30 minutes for making changes to replies.

The microblogging site made an announcement that Blue customers would now have up to an hour to alter their tweets after they have been posted. On Tuesday, the official Twitter Blue account sent out a message stating that “Blue subscribers now have up to one hour to edit their tweets.” The new one-hour time restriction that applies when editing original posts was reflected in an update that was made to the help page for Twitter Blue not long after the post was published.

“This highly requested feature gives you a 1-hour window to make a limited number of changes to published Tweets. Use it to make updates, tag someone, or reorder the media you attached. Edit Tweet currently only applies to original Tweets and quote Tweets,” the support page mentioned. When it was first released in October of the previous year, the function that allows users to update their tweets had a time restriction of just thirty minutes.

This statement comes following the first day of work for Twitter’s newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Linda Yaccarino. Twitter is a microblogging firm. She made the formal announcement that she had accepted her role at the well-known social media site. She expressed her excitement about starting her new job in a tweet that she sent on Monday. Elon Musk hired her approximately one month ago. The tweet that Yaccarino sent out was short, but it was packed with excitement as she cried, “It happened — first day in the books!”

After Musk acquired Twitter in October of the previous year for a stunning $44 billion, he took the job of CEO and voiced faith in Yaccarino’s capacity to develop Twitter into an “everything app.” This expansive vision calls for a complete overhaul of the system in order to integrate a diverse range of features and capabilities.
